times we live in

Hope this post finds you well. I'm stayin' busy livin, which is good. Had to write on what has been on my mind lately, and it's (drumroll) .....suprise, music. Of course, after the drop of the stellar Game Theory by the Roots and Continuum by John Mayer, I've realized both have one major commonality that helps them achieve masterpiece status: they are political and social dissertations. I love that, the conscious effort to inform the world on what is really going on. Then it hit me, why do I have to wait so long between album releases that take place every Tuesday to actually get substance in my music? Why wasn't G.T. promoted more by Def Jam? I hear that Jay-Z has been fired, or he put it stepped down. I love Jigga, but he really dropped the ball on that promotion of that album and I think that deserves a pink slip. Why is it that the majority of garbage coming out about nonsense? Has anyone noticed it's an election year and we're wasting lives and dollars on a war we shouldn't be in in the first place? I'm sorry, I guess I must have missed it when I was buying 24's and hustlin' white to get the range and the iced out grill. As my main man Talib said: These cats drink champagne and toast death and pain like slaves on a ship talkin' bout who's got the flyest chain!

I guess you have to be glad for the small miracles for those who haven't sold their souls to the industry. There is some light in the world still. As always, I have to promote some quality music, make sure you check out the new Joy Denelane, a throwback songstress to the days of action. Also an oldie but goodie I've had in rotation lately: "A change is gonna come" by Sam Cooke, brings tears to the eyes everytime....... Peace and blessings......
